Hi, I'm Shay!

I'm a writer, I write. The title for this blog actually comes from a tattoo I have which I got as kind of a reminder of what I am at my core for the days when the rejection letters are piling up and I need the reminder.

So yeah, I'm a writer. I've written around 14 novels, seriously edited like three of them. My main goal is to be traditionally published but at the moment I'm still deep in the query trenches! I'm focused mainly on my MG fantasy/magical realism stuff at the moment but I've also written YA fantasy, dystopian, contemporary, paranormal, and sy-fy.

I'm a lover of books and adventure. A writer who loves NaNoWriMo. And a fan of all kinds of music.

I love coffee, fantasy books, and characters I can swoon over. Magnus Bane is life goals, just saying.

Alex Steele has big dreams and an even bigger imagination. She writes everything from Middle Grade Epic Fantasy to Cutesy YA Contemporary. She is currently unemployed and focusing all her time on writing, in the hopes of one day soon being published. Alex Steele is not her real name...
